Overview
 | Likwi Lok should be used for the packaging of
meat in vacuum bags or whenever your product releases, or may release, unwanted
water-based liquids. |
| Likwi Lok offers added product value by
offering remarkably high retention of fluids. Likwi Lok is a thematically sealed sachet
containing an inert powder which will absorb up to 60 times it’s own weight in exuded
liquids. |
| Although it is harmless to humans, the gel
provides a very poor growing environment for bacteria. The liquid which has been absorbed
is no longer a source of contamination for your product. |
| Likwi Lok sachets are completely safe in
contact with foodstuffs. The gel that forms as fluid are absorbed, is unpalatable and safe
for consumption. All constituent components are approved for use with food products by
either USA (FDA approved) or European (EEC approval), depending on the source of raw
materials. |

weight in meat fluid compared to fluff pulp, which will only absorb 2 to 4 times its

Applications
| Take care to keep opened cartons of Likwi Lok
sachets away from wet areas where splashing may occur, and any other form of
contamination. |
| Ensure your packaging materials are dry
before placing sachets into them, otherwise the absorbing action will start immediately. |
| Place the required Likwi Lok sachets in the
Vacuum bag. The perforated shine side must face the meat. The smooth,h shiny side of the
sachet should face the outside of the vacuum bag. |
| Pack and vacuum the bag in your usual manner. |

Specifications
| Likwi Lok sachets are formed from various
heat bonded plastic materials. No adhesives are used in the manufacturing process. The
smooth shiny side of the sheet does not allow the passage of moisture. The other side is a
wickable fabric or a micro perforated plastic that attracts fluid. Inside the cell is an
inert super absorbent powder, which forms a non-toxic gel as it absorbs and retains
fluids. |
| Likwi Lok was developed environmental
friendly. The super absorbent gel breaks down to water, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide after
six weeks exposure to normal ultra-violet sunlight. The rest of the Likwi Lok sachet is
manufactured from polly-propylene. |
